Hi all,
Summer is flying by and it's almost July already. For me, been busy working on my new shop. Hoped to have it done by the end of this month, but looks like I will be a couple days short. Once done, I have an ATV to fix and some other chores. Then a 502 and 503 restoration begins. Hope to be well under way with those projects by the end of July.
While working on these restorations, I plan to refurbish hoods, handle bars and chassis and have them available for sale if anyone is interested. I have these pieces for all models.
Ken from Sheboygan shared an interesting write up of the differences between the 200 and 200A. I've put that information on the Hus Ski page under the 200A tab. This is excellent reading and I hope you all get a chance to look at it. It similar to all the changes made from the Diablo 500 to the 502/3 otherwise known as engineering on the fly. Or maybe hindsight 20/20 is a better description.
In another month, I'll be sending out a note to everyone looking for suggestions to where we should hold our 3rd Annual Hus Ski / Diablo Get Together. Start checking out events around your area and when I get the note out, please respond.
Take care all,
Bruce

Hi Bruce. I have removed all the cylinders from my engines to be cleaned and painted. Although the numbers in the casting are the same, is it important to return the cylinder to its respective piston? I am thinking of the wear which may have happened over all these years. Are the rings worn to a particular cylinder?

I think a general rule of thumb is to put a used piston back in the same used cylinder as cylinders and pistons do not wear evenly around the bore. Rings are the same. Installing new rings in a worn bore can be tricky too because of the wear.
Maybe someone else on the forum has some good advise????????????????????
